I love an Irish book. But I think I maybe have too many Irish books! So I thought I should read other books from celtic nations. I'm Welsh and haven't actually read any books set in Wales/by Welsh authors so I'd love to see if there is anything I might enjoy. I'd also love to read anything Scottish. Although I don't really want anything fantasy, legends etc, I'm not in the mood for that. And not outlander-I hated that book.

    2. I’m actually part Welsh too and I haven’t read any Welsh authors either so I’ll be keeping an eye on the replies hahaha (good Irish books DO tend to be a lot easier to find, don’t they?!) but if you want something Scottish Douglas Stuart’s books are devastatingly good, I loved Young Mungo. Shuggie Bain is a harrowing read, but also rightfully the critically acclaimed piece that it is, just be warned — it’s bleak and depressing.

    3. How Late It Was, How Late is a good Scottish novel . Challenging read, though.
