NC is my home state, so Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe or Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier. Great books.

    3. In my opinion, East of Eden is like the quintessential California novel. Good luck!

    4. Nebraska – Willa Cather, Mari Sandoz, Ted Kooser, Lydia Kang, Rainbow Rowell

    5. Not sure of what genres you’re searching for, so throwing out random popular authors from states that I can think of

      Louisiana – Anne Rice

      Georgia – Alice Walker

Wisconsin: He wasn’t born there, but lived and taught and wrote there – Aldo Leopold’s A Sand County Almanac

If you’re looking for a WI-born author, Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House series) and Ellen Raskin (The Westing Game)

Are you wanting the author to have grown up in the state, for them to have lived there or that the book is set in that state?

      Alaska: Never Broken by Jewel

Hawaii: Hula by Jasmine Iolani Hakes

New Mexico: Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather (I know she lived there for a time)
