Yesterday, I realised that all the books I have read this year were written by british or american authors (even though I am german) and I want to change that. So, I'm looking for books by authors of any other nationality. I mostly read fantasy, but I'm open to basically any genre if the premise is fun or interesting. (As I only speak german and english, please only recommend books written or translated into one of these languages). Thanks in advance! 🙂

Non fantasy, but loved by me who also prefers fantasy:
* Rafik Schami: Die dunkle Seite der Liebe (Syrian-German author)
* Harry Mulisch: Die Entdeckung des Himmels (orig. Dutch)
Fantasy:
* Janne Teller: Odins Insel (orig. Danish, literary fantasy)
* Christelle Dabos: Mirror Visitor quartett (orig. French, YAish)
Have you read What You Can See From Here by Mariana Leky? It’s German originally.
