I've read a few thrillers that people I know have absolutely raved about and I hated them because they are first person, unreliable narrator. I know I'm in the minority but the main character, thinking in their head the whole book "Oh my gosh. What could have happened? Who killed him?" And then the last chapter being like "Muahaha it was me all along" just doesn't work. It's not a clever twist. Clever would be realizing there were subtle hints in their thoughts all along.
Anyway, thats my new book pet peeve and I'm looking for thrillers that aren't like that. Something Local Woman Missing because that one surprised me.
