need book recommendations that are similar to ‘the catcher in the rye’

I read the catcher in the rye in one sitting today- something that is a rare occurrence for me. It was the first time in a long time i was truly hooked by a novel, due to the plot and the writing style.

I physically cannot read a book unless it’s earth shatteringly depressing. romance and horrors do not interest me. Can anyone give me any recommendations? Thankyou!
