I love these books for their beautiful writing and for the structure of telling a story, then telling it again from a different perspective so that the reader's understanding of it changes completely. Does anyone have any other recommendations?
I'd also love any other British Empire/expat novels – the above as well as anything like Anthony Burgess's Malayan Trilogy, JG Farrell's The Singapore Grip, or Olivia Manning's Balkan Trilogy.
