So guys, I'm looking for a story centered around space, something with exploration, adventure, or even deep space science fiction themes. (i dont know much about space stories)
To be honest, I’ve read zero books related to space so far, but I’m really eager to dive into one now. I don’t mind if it’s classic or modern, I just want something mind-blowing. Whether it's a philosophical space epic, a survival thriller, or an interstellar war story, I’m open to "all".
I’m looking for a story that readers and scholars consider the best ever written, or at least one that you personally think is the best space story ever. Something unforgettable, something that makes me think or feel things for the story and stays with me for long…
Drop me your absolute TOP recommendations.
P.S.: I don't know what "space opera" means, I just put this term in the title because I didn't have a good title idea, sorry…
IMPORTANT NOTE: please don't recommend books NOT written by humans, as I am also a human, so i feel more connected towards my species…..

If you want your brain melted in the best way, start with “Hyperion” by Dan Simmons – poetic, terrifying, unforgettable.
Then hit “The Expanse” for gritty realism, and “The Culture” series by Iain M. Banks for philosophical space madness with ships named things like “Just Read the Instructions.
Hyperion and its sequel, the Fall of Hyperion
Then probably The Expanse series, but I haven’t finished that one yet.
Gateway by Frederick Pohl
Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C Clarke
Solaris by Stanislaw Lem
Lois McMaster Bujold’s The Vorkosigan Saga.
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy.
