One of my cousin sisters, who’s about 23, recently asked me to recommend a book to help her get into reading. I found myself a bit stuck—mainly because I can't clearly remember which book first ignited my own love for books. These days, I'm more into Russian literature and darker, atmospheric Asian novels, which I feel might not be the best starting point for her.
I'm not quite sure what would make a good first read for someone her age. I do know she enjoys anime films, thrillers, and a touch of romance. I briefly thought about The Silent Patient, but I’m not convinced it’s the right fit just yet.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations! I also plan to gift her the book, so I’d love it to be something that makes a strong, welcoming first impression.
