Suggest me a book similar to Scalp Dance by Thomas Goodrich

I have been reading the book Scalp Dance by Thomas Goodrich. A fascinating book that relies mostly on the eyewitness testimony and writings of the participants. The book describes the gruesome details of plains warfare during the mid and late 19th century. I'm looking for similar books written from both the perspective of the U.S. citizens as well as the native Americans. The period I'm most interested is from the mid 1800s to 1900 specifically the areas formally known as the "high plains". Thanks in advance.
