I'm trying to get into reading more, but English is my second language. I'm looking for books that are enjoyable and not too hard to read. Ideally, something with simple language and still interesting or meaningful.
I’m open to most genres, but I’d especially love something that’s easy to follow and helps improve my vocabulary without being too complex. Fiction or nonfiction are both okay!
Thank you in advance!

The Little Prince, the language is simple, the meanings are not. There is probably a translation in your own language too if that is useful.
“All Creatures Great and Small” by James Herriot
“The Cay” by Theodore Taylor
“My Side of the Mountain” by Jean Craighead George
“The Pearl” by John Steinbeck
“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee
Not sure if you’re interested in sci fi but Octavia Butler is someone I consider to write in a fairly simple, straightforward style but ends up being incredibly impactful. I recommend her book Dawn (part of a series) or Parable of the Sower.
John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemingway are great authors but their styles are very accessible and easy for beginners. Their books are also pretty short compared to others.
All their work is good so just pick something that sounds good and give it a try.
