Had a dream about this recently and miss the cosy feeling of it. Also escapism is great.
Would be nice if one of the characters was quieter.
Preferably with a bit of surrealism if that kind of book exists.
The more chill it is the better.

I’m re-reading Murakami’s Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage. This book sounds right up for you according to your preferences.
The novel tells the story of Japanese railroad engineer Tsukuru Tazaki. When his close-knit group of friends abruptly cuts all relationships with him, a young Tsukuru is left depressed and without answers. Years later, Tsukuru attempts to reconcile with his old friends, embarking on a quest for truth and a pilgrimage for happiness.
