just finished the tainted cup and really enjoy some of the original sherlock holmes stories, i want to explore more of the mystery genre, what can be recommended?

i know the tainted cup has a sequel and its already on my TBR

i like the sherlock-type detective, manic energy, driven, youre split between asking "are they even sane" and "is this the smartest person on the planet?"

im fine with any setting, sci fi, fantasy, victorian, modern, steampunk

i just want intelligent writing and something preferably modern
