They don’t need to be about the same things like being on an island or stuck somewhere I just love the mysterious storylines and would love to read a book with similar thriller mystery vibes.

I would love if it included romance and was a singular point of view or at least follows one person, but would still appreciate books that don’t follow that guideline.

    Thanks!! This community is amazing!

No romance, but More Than This by Patrick Ness includes a mysterious world.

    2. I recommend Dorothy Dunnett’s six-book historical fiction series the *Lymond Chronicles*. You can read the first book, *The Game of Kings*, as a standalone novel and see if you like it. It follows Francis Crawford of Lymond, a brilliant Scottish aristocrat with a nasty outlaw reputation — but is that reputation deserved? That’s one of many puzzles for you to figure out. It’s mostly action adventure, but there’s romance in it as well, and several important female characters.

I have a second recommendation that doesn’t fit your second paragraph. It follows many characters at the same time, and you really have to read to whole series to reach a proper resolution. But if you like long form fantasy, the ten book series *The Malazan Book of the Fallen* by Steven Erikson is full of riddles, mysteries, and enigmas, and has a satisfying ending.
