I love magical realism. Bone Gap and American Gods are currently leading the charge.

Can’t go wrong with Brandon Sanderson and his Cosmere books (mainly Mistborn and Stormlight Archive). Great books with deep, DEEP worldbuilding, magic systems and interesting characters (a single Stormlight book has like 1300 pages on average, so be warned lmao).

LOTR, of course. I also enjoyed the Chronicles of Prydain as a kid. The Elric Saga by Moorcock is dark but not bad.

I’m still catching up on the series..but I just love all the stories in it.
Especially The Hero of Ages and Stormlight Archive.
The books are like…soul touching therapy (*for both the characters and the reader), combined with epic action, set in a world full of magic and a ‘universe’ full of epic lore!! (..interesting magic systems)…all of which leads to explosive/mind-blowing plots (the Sander-lanche!).
