Looking for 90s sci-fi / space-y novels – the kind with really tacky / geeky cover art

Don't worry about trying to think of bestseller, literary masterpieces of anything.

Something obscure with really basic storylines will do nicely, just provided I can get hold of it easily enough from Amazon

As an example, I recently bought a few 90s Mechwarrior novels, based on the video game. I haven't read them yet but looking for other stuff that is equally as geeky lol.

Bonus points if it's a series of books!
