I’ve been reading a lot of horror this year and am ready to switch it up with something a tad less bleak. I would love suggestions for books that are more lighthearted or humorous or non-fiction recs that cover fun/interesting topics!
I read “Get the Picture” by Bianca Bosker and referred to it as a “palate cleanser” after reading a couple of non-fiction books that were very disturbing. She’s a journalist who embeds herself in the NY art scene. It’r well researched, quirky and funny at times. She also wrote and enjoyable book about the wine business that has similar fun elements. (she befriends sommeliers in New York, provides scientific information about smell and taste, gets invited to the biggest (and most pretentious) burgundy event, etc. Neither book follows your standard NF topic trajectory. They’re more like gonzo journalism.

I love Jillian Eaton’s regency romance books, if that’s something you’re into!
