I'm doing a reading challenge this year and one of the prompts is to read a book by a neurodivergent author. Since I was recently diagnosed, I'd really like to read something by an author with ADHD in particular, but I've had a hard time finding anything that isn't self-help/memoir.
I'm open to any genre but my favourite is dark literary fiction (Geek Love, The Vegetarian, Grendel, No Longer Human, Boy Parts, My Year of Rest and Relaxation, Notes from Underground, The Wasp Factory, etc.). I also like horror, sci-fi, mysteries, contemporary, historical, women's fiction and translated/international books. I am open to nonfiction if it's not about ADHD, I'm just not in the mood to read about something I already struggle with every day.
The book doesn't have to have ADHD characters/rep/themes or anything, just looking for a good read. Also please only suggest authors who have confirmed ADHD, not just speculation/armchair diagnosis, thank you!

Good luck with that.
Take your pick of Agatha Christie novels.
Done & Dusted by Lyla Sage (she has it and she wrote it into the main character)
Rick Riordan is open about his adhd, so any of his stuff would qualify.
