Books like Breaking Bad

I want to find a book that follows a main character or set of main characters who slowly find themselves overwhelmed by a series of moral quandaries the place themselves in. But they do this to build something or create something that they believe is for the good of themselves or others until they become engulfed in the sea of their bad decisions that ultimately causes them and their creation to come tumbling down.
