I just finished listening to My Friends by Frederick Backman and absolutely loved it. I’ve “read”/listened to all of his translated work and absolutely love his style of writing. The Bear Town series, Anxious People, and My Friends were my favorites.
I think I really enjoy his character work plus story line mini twists. I’ve been through older threads asking for similar reads and came across some gems (e.g., Project Hail Mary) so I was hoping for some more suggestions.
Other authors I’ve enjoyed are Jodi Picoult (some, not all of her books) and Shelby Van Pelt (Remarkably Bright Creatures). I’m not really into fantasy/romance books, and I feel like if I’m not intrigued by the first hour that I tend to give up.
