I just finished watching all of Ted Lasso. I loved it. The found family trope with comedy and feel good lessons? Ate it up. It was so easy to get lost in their world and feel comfortable there. I want books like that. I want books that are so comfortable that you can't wait to get home and step back into that world with those characters that feel like friends.
I love romcoms. Smut is okay but I want it to be minimal. I'm more focused on wanting books with characters I'm going to completely fall in love with. The goofier the better. The tropier the better. Books I've read and loved that are kind of like this:
First-Time Caller
The Windy City Series
Funny Story
The Summer of Broken Rules
Simon Snow Series
The House in the Cerulean Sea
Daisy Jones & The Six (Not a romcom and not a feel good tropey type really, but still a great book)

Discworld is always the answer.
The books are hilarious, and the characters and the world are awesome to dive into. Carrot Ironfounderson might be the character most similar to Ted Lasso. He’s in the city watch books that start with Guards! Guards! That might be a good place to start to see if it’s similar in the way you’re looking for.
