    Asking for apocalyptic pandemic fiction, but with flu-like, highly-lethal viruses. A general epicenter is fine (such as the Republic of Georgia in “Station Eleven”, even though most of it is post-outbreak), but I’d prefer there to be a “patient zero” (*The Stand* obviously being the most famous example).

    Side note: One novel I was referred to a while back involved a group of brothers surviving a virus known as “The Rapture”, because of its 99% lethality rate. Unfortunately, I forgot the name.

      How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu, but only kind of. The virus is pretty lethal and there’s a patient zero but it’s not really flu-like if I remember correctly
