I'm currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire and I really dig the chapters beyond the wall and everything about warging.
I really would like an entire book like that, but perhaps lighter in tone. The perfect suggestion might be something like a druid living in a village in the far north, who transforms into a polar bear and protects the other animals, and must solve some mystery regarding the northern lights.
It doesn't need to be very specific, as long as it's set in snow and has some sort of talking animal or transformed human as one of the main characters.
I also really remember liking the Wolf Brother series, but I remember nothing as I read them as a young child.
