I keep trying to figure out how I want to word this, lol. I just really enjoy novels that are about family navigating life and the things that bring us together or apart.
Here are some that I've read that I can think of that I've liked..
-Hello Beatiufl Ann Napolitano
-Same As it Ever Was Claire Lombardo
-Fun For the Whole Family Jennifer Smith

He Knew He was Right, by Anthony Trollope
Commonwealth, AP
The Bee Sting by Paul Murray
The Berry Pickers may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but I think it could really scratch the itch
I can’t stop recommending The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck enough and the two books that follow in the trilogy. Each book is about the succeeding generation of a family navigating life in rural China.

What You Can See From Here
All Families are Psychotic by Douglas Coupland. Despite the name, it’s heartwarming in a bonkers way
I’d recommend Butter by Asako Yuzuki! I thought it was going to be a murder mystery, but it ended up being a beautiful exploration of family relationships, romantic relationships, friendships (and found family!). I loved it.
The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen
Instructions for a Heatwave by Maggie O’Farrell
Or if you want a really dysfunctional mother daughter relationship, then My Phantoms by Gwendoline Riley
A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth!
Tip: If you use asterisks or hyphens (one per line; **a space between the asterisk/hyphen and the rest of the line is required**), they turn into typographical bullets.

Charming Billy by Alice McDermott
**The Knife of Never Letting Go** by **Jéanpaul Ferro**
It’s about 26 family members hiding from the Nazi’s in massive caves during the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union during WWII. It is funny, heartbreaking, and victorious all at once! The family dynamic is amazing too. I felt the book’s family was my own crazy family.
I just finished Pachinko and it was great.
“To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee is very good.
The Cazalet Chronicles by Elizabeth Jane Howard (first one is The Light Years)
