Looking for a fastpaced, preferably shorter book that's lighthearted or funny. Something that's not heavy would be great! Very anxious and on edge with everything happening in the US right now, which is where I live
The Monk and Robot series! By Becky Chambers. Not “funny” really but lighthearted and short!

I really love the author A. Lee Martinez when I’m looking for funny and lighthearted. It’s horror flavored, but not scary, and has a lot of actually funny dialogue. My favorites are *Gil’s All Fright Diner*, *A Nameless Witch*, *Helen and Troy’s Epic Road Trip*, and *Too Many Curses*.

Perfect time to start reading the Discworld series. It’s by Terry Pratchett. Very fun and quirky fantasy world. The first book is called “The Colour of Magic.”

The Tatami Galaxy by Tomihiko Morimi is really fun and lighthearted. Same goes for its sequel, The Tatami Time Machine Blues.

Lamb by Christopher Moore. Gets a little heavy at the end but for the most part it’s a lighthearted and hilarious romp
