Basically what it says in the title!

Long story short I'm a Civil War buff who spent last weekend on a self-guided tour of Virginia Civil War battlefields, and during my journeys I stopped at Jamestown and checked out the museum. I got the urge to read more outside of my usual time periods, so I'm interested in any books people may have read about the Jamestown colony (or hell, Plymouth too, but I'm particularly interested in Jamestown due to my visit).

Subjects under these umbrellas I'm particularly interested in reading about:

    1. Books about daily life for average people in these colonies (whether these people are average free people, indentured servants, enslaved people, merchants, etc).

    2. Books about the larger political/financial causes and effects of these colonies (the political and financial goings on in Europe that motivated the establishment of these colonies, what they ended up bringing to the table for Europe, etc).

    3. Books about colonial relations with Native American tribes (including anything about King Philip's War).

    4. More domestic subjects like food common in these colonies.

    5. Books about the slave trade and how it interacted with the colonies are definitely welcome. I have read a lot about enslaved people in the antebellum (roughly the J.Q. Adams admin to Buchanan) and Civil War eras but my reading about earlier time periods regarding chattel slavery is definitely not comparably robust.
