This week I broke up with my bf & we’ve been together for the past year. We have been on & off for 10 years so, while I know this is the right decision, it’s a major change & that’s still scary especially being the one making that choice. I would love a book to help me feel confident about walking away & choosing myself. I would love some books that have a more serious/motivational/empowering tone, but would also love some recommendations that are funny and humorous with strong FMC. Unfortunately I don’t really gravitate towards fantasy so tend to avoid those. Thanks in advance! 🤍

“The Rook: On Her Majesty’s Supernatural Secret Service”, by Daniel O’Malley is a very well-written, outrageously ridiculous story with a definite Men In Black tone, with a FMC. Also the first of three with a fourth coming out soon.
“Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story”, by Christopher Moore is the first of a trilogy about a young woman who is unwittingly made a vampire. Moore has a bizarrely unique sense of humor, and all of his books are light, very quirky, and laugh-out-loud.
