I’m looking for what the title says! I’m open to biographies but I read more fiction – realistic, historical, sci-fi, a bit of fantasy… I’m a woman over 40, never married, never put anyone in jail; generally I enjoy a good youth novel, clean romance, or not-too-violent mystery, but at the moment, I want to read about someone whose shoes I can step into a little more easily. Any good stories out there I can enjoy? Thanks in advance!

Out of the Silent Planet/The Sparrow (male lead)
Lord Peter Wimsey/Mrs. Polifax (murders)
The Penderwicks/The Wednesday Wars (youth)
Artemis/Hogfather/Trickster’s Queen (secular/pagan worldview)
Biblical fiction by Tessa Afshar, Mesu Andrews (v good, but the woman seldom ends single)
Currently on my reading list:
A biography of Amy Carmichael (actually fits my wishes, yay!!!)
Tea with Elephants (started; put it down when I realized both female leads are married, sigh)
The Brothers Karamazov (clearly not about women, but I’ve been meaning to read it, just gotta take my first bite of the elephant!)
