I'm looking for a romance books about a widow and their refusal to move on from their previous partner – it becomes their IDENTITY to be known as the husband of someone who isn't there anymore that makes it impossible to try committing to a new partner because this way they're not going to be dead person's spouse they'll just be a normal partner and that would also mean severing the only tie between them and the deceased.
I know I've previously read at least two books like this, but I love the trope and would happily read it a few dozen more times.
Within Reach by Sarah Mayberry (although there was almost too much childcare in there for me)
Married for Christmas by Noel Adams
Bonus points if it makes me very sad/ emotional.
Thank you in advance!
