I’m looking for books that show the impact that the US has had through funding regime changes, coups, drug wars and the long term fallout of these decisions. I’ve heard stories about how we have destroyed countries like Guatemala this way but I’d like some hard facts and details.

Hello!
I have one that might fit this. Although I haven’t completely finished it yet, it certainly discusses Western/American treatment of South and Latin America.
It’s “Open Veins of Latin America” by Eduardo Galeano. It was published back in the 70s or 80s I believe, but certainly still relevant. It is a pretty well known book, so sorry if you’ve already read/heard of it, but if you haven’t I’d definitely recommend!
It’s easy to find for free online too.

Incredible trio of modern books, all very well-written and well-researched.
