Hey there,
I am applying for a position (training) in a bookstore and they want me to bring my favorite book and recommend it to them.
I am vers nervous and would like to heat how it went from some people who work in bookstores and what is essentialy important when recommending a book.
I would first make sure that my book is even in the genre field of the person by asking about their genre interests or their favorite/recent read books.
Then I would proceed to give a peek into tje story of the book and show them some artworks (if given by the book).
Please correct me or give me some tipps that helped you.
Thank you!

1. Ask about their interests (like you said) — maybe phrase it casually:
“Do you have a favorite genre or a recent book you really enjoyed?”
This shows you care about their taste, not just pushing your own book.
2. Show Passion but Stay Flexible
Share why this book means something to you — that personal connection is often the best recommendation.
