I need help finding my next good fiction book. Although I am on a roll with nonfiction, I have started and not finished several books so far this year, including the three body problem and 11/22/63. Both of those had come highly recommended, had a great premise but were a slog to get through. I think I have slight adhd with books and I need the plot to go fast for me to stay engaged….

As far as genres I love sci if, speculative fiction, and domestic thrillers. I like the macabre and darker humor. I will also read classics and the only genre I genuinely dislike is memoirs/biographies I just find them a snooze.

Some books and authors I love are:

    Handmaids Tale Margaret Atwood

    Children of Time series

    Ashley Audrain

    The Need by Helen Phillips

Carrie Soto is back by TJR

How high we go in the dark

    Shari Lapena

    Alice Feeney

I who have ever known men

    Ann Napolitano

    Jessica Knoll

    Cloud Atlas

    New York Ghost

    The Measure

    Ann Patchett

Anyways, any and all suggestions are welcome. I am desperate to get into a new book that doesn’t bore or disappoint me. TIA

I found 3 body problem unreadable. Maybe it is a work of art in Chinese but in English it is just not…

      Here are some books:

      – this is how you lose the time War – short and sweet and leaves you wanting more
      – slewfoot by brom – this book has been constantly recommended the past couple of years for its cozy witchy vibes
      – project hail Mary- one of the most recommended books of all time especially if you can get the award-winning audiobook for it’s wonderful production
      – starter villain
      – Gideon the Ninth – this book starts when they go to the new location
      – the fifth season – this book starts when the woman leaves the town
      – the Ninth house – Harry Potter + secret society Yale
      – the Scholomance – Harry potter, if the school itself was literally trying to **eat** you
      – an academy for liars – Harry potter, but, you have low self-confidence and you have fallen for the first man that you see who is important and intelligent and you are none of those things and also he is sleeping with your best friend, so now it is time to run away from your problems again

The Road by Cormac McCarthy – warning, I am very angry at this book because something very bad happened at the time in this book when something very bad happened

I just finished “I who have never known men”
