    Hello all,

I am wanting to start reading more now I am attending the gym and I believe it will improve mental health along with the gym improving physical health.

I really like 1984, and I watched a video essay on "no longer human" and it sounded fascinating but a bit dark for a beginner.

I also don't like darker romance or any sex scenes in a book, to be frank romance in books doesn't really interest me that much.
So if anyone could recommend me something based of that, I would much appreciate it.
If anyone recommends me anything and I read it I will keep you posted on how I am enjoying the book.

    Thank you all so much
    Daniel

    1. If you liked 1984 you should definitely read Animal Farm as well!
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is another great one.
The Old Man in the Sea by Ernest Hemingway is another great classic.
      The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
For more modern literature you could try:
      Piranesi by Sussana Clarke
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
The Road by Cormac McCarthy (though maybe later on, this one is very dark and sad)

    2. Sunshine_and_water on

      – Brave New World
      – Demon Copperfield
      – Dune

Or if you want something lighter…
      – Psalm for the Wild Built
      – All Systems Red/Murderbot Diaries
      – Thursday Murder Club
