I've read and enjoyed A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan. I have Empire of Shadows by Jacquelyn Benson, Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett, and What the River Knows by Isabel Ibanez on my TBR, but I'd love something with a black main character. This could be a female or male main character.
I appreciate all recs, but I'd prefer they lean towards some sort of adventure. Bonus points if there is an archeologist, but I'll accept anything scholarly or even an artist – thank you for taking the time!

The Raven Scholar! Black female lead that gets thrown into a trial to decide the next ruler of the empire while she’s also trying to solve a murder she’s being framed for. As the name of the book suggests she is a scholar.
