Specific creepy vibe

Have been searching for a long time but I cant seem to find a book with the vibe i’m looking for. I want something like the short film “The other side of the box” and the reddit story “My wife has been peeking at me from around corner and behind furniture. It’s gone from weird to terrifying.” I particularly like the peeking and staring thing without the stalker/obsessor element.
