The Shining by Stephen King. Ofc I am terribly late to the party but I picked it up a few weeks ago and was engrossed in it the whole weekend. I couldn’t put it down whatsoever!

Sounds like a case of literary Stockholm
Syndrome.

There is this book series: “Ascendance of a Bookworm”
It is a slow burn, but i’ve been hooked for a while now and can’t wait for the translation of the next book. The main character is, of course, the bookworm and wants to become a librarian. She is absolutely single minded and has no feel for social interactions. In the series, she goes on one rampage after another, to make her dream come true, sweeping lots of people with her.

It is a fantasy series, though.
