Suggest me your favorite fall/Halloween read (and why, no spoilers please! 🥰❤️)
It’s October and I wanna get in the spooky, leaves falling, sweater-wearing mood… so tell me your favorite fall or Halloween book. Maybe it’s a re-read or just the perfect book to compliment the season. 🍁🍁🍁🎃🎃🎃
I recently finished reading The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and it was definitely giving me Fall/moody weather vibes. It’s a murder mystery with a time loop that takes place in an English manor – I read it during a rainy week and it felt so cozy at times.

Babel by R.F Kuang. It falls into the same category as the secret history and If we were villains.
It’s an amazing dark academia, and even if you aren’t a fan of that aesthetic, you’ll still love it.
On a lighter note, The Before the Coffee Gets Cold books is a great **cozy** read. Currently there are 3 books (i think they are all standalones(??)) as well as a 4th books coming out this November!!!!!!

I couldn’t pick just one:
Rebecca
The Little Stranger
The Turn of the Key (a riff on The Turn of the Screw)
The Pallbearer’s Club
Saturday Night Ghost Club
Truly Devious series

“Something Wicked This Way Comes” by Ray Bradbury fits this vibe PERFECTLY

Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge—i read it last October and it was a very fitting read for the season/month.
On the non-spooky end of the spectrum, I would recommend Assassin’s Apprentice. Cozy isn’t quite the right word, but it just feels like a good book to read during fall.

I love reading classic monster stores: Frankenstein is probably my favorite, but I also loved Dracula, and the Portrait of Dorian Grey

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. It’s for kids but not really! The audiobook version (full cast) is also wonderful.
