I’ve always found self-help or motivational books to be kind of cliche or only helpful in the short-term. I’ve read some Tony Robbins, 7 Habits, Atomic Habits, etc… But I’ve actually gained a lot more from fiction books like Les Miserables and The Godfather.
Has anything actually had a positive impact on your life long-term?

Alchemist
The King and the Corpse by Heinrich Zimmer.
Momo by Michael Ende
*Siddhartha* by Hermann Hesse
*Tao Te Ching* by Lao Tzu
Specifically in that order. I found Buddhism and Taoism to be incredibly helpful to learn about alongside each other. Bonus points that both of them are very quick reads if you want them to be, but can also be intentionally dragged out for as long as you want.
