I'm relatively new to reading (for fun). I've read 27 books so far this year. I've tried a couple of times to listen to audiobooks, but can seem to keep focus especially if I'm doing something else in the meantime. A thought pops into my mind and then I can't remember what I just listed to. It sometimes happens to me with print, but I can usually just reread the last paragraph and I'm good. With audiobooks there's no way for me to know how far back I have to go.
I get the convenience of audiobooks. Who doesn't want to be able to read a book while accomplishing another task? I'm just wondering if anybody else went through this at first and what tips if any you they might have for me.

i can not listen to them while i sit stuff like clean or drive. i can only listen when i walk to work which i do daily and it’s really nice. so maybe you haven’t found the situation yet when to listen
I can only listen in the car. And it has to be a narrator who has a voice I can at least tolerate. I’m kind of limited because of that second one.
Try listening while doing a sort of mindless task. Like knitting or playing a video game you’ve played already too much but still love
I’m another car listener, although I can sometimes get into one while I’m weaving.
