I recently devoured “The Favorites” by Layne Fargo and “Carrie Soto is Back” by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and I am looking for suggestions for more books like those. The female leads are strong, smart, and/or talented, but they are terribly unlikable at the same time. Being liked doesn’t matter though because they just want to be the absolute best at what they do!
I loved the ice dancing and tennis in the last two books, but maybe they don’t all have to be athletes. I picked up “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus at the library today, so we’ll see if that scratches the itch.
Also, I’m open to non-fiction as well. I picked “women’s fiction” because that seemed to fit my request, but I would be open to other genres.
