Books that feel like The Sandman?

I love the idea of complex fantasy like beings and their stories – sibling dynamics, etc.

I am not looking to read the comics unfortunately – so if anyone has a suggestion I am open!

Some context: I have not picked up a book until recently after a 5 year hiatus. Started reading The Crimson Moth series, but felt a bit bored halfway through as I'm not one for love tropes over the intrigue of a good magic system and more complex family dynamics.

Open to any suggestions! Doesn't have to be gods/powerful beings.
