I recently picked up reading as a hobby and I'm looking for suggestions on what to read next. Im a long time gamer and I'm currently reading "Rapture" the prequel book to the series Bioshock and love it. I tend to gravitate toward sci-fi and fantasy genres but I'm open at any suggestion!

Forever and always will recommend Project Hail Mary for Sci-Fi lovers. Easy(ish) read, fun, entertaining, and funny.
Ooh gonna go pull some of the more commonly recommended books just because I do think they’re more popular for a reason.
– Two books by Andy Weir – **The Martian** and **Project Hail Mary**. Andy Weir is a programmer who grew up around science, so all of his books have a lot of science jargon surrounding it, but it’s very accessible and he’s got a very funny and light writing style. The Martian is a more realistic science fiction that follows a man who is accidentally left behind on Mars due to an emergency crew evacuation. And go into Project Hail Mary blind!
– **Red Rising** – Not going to go too much into the plot again due to it being fun to figure out as the book reveals itself, but it’s fast-paced, class exploration, and a bit dystopian. Sometimes reads a bit like YA, but I personally felt like the story was propulsive enough to not feel too young or dumbed down. I’ve heard the rest of the series feels less YA.
– **All Systems Red** – The series starts off as a novella so very short time commitment. Sci-fi that follows an android (“murderbot”) whose whole mission is to protect various companies from wildlife/creatures as they explore dangerous planets. This murderbot has secretly hacked its own system and all it wants to do is watch its favorite TV shows.
