As title says, I'm writing a book at the moment and I'm really looking for something with similar themes to compare to, but I'm struggling to find anything I'm excited to read.
So far, best comparison I have is Belladonna at a push because of FMCs with troubled pasts, struggles to fit in and be accepted/accept herself, fantasy romance but Belladonna is also a little more spicy than I'm planning and a young adult book, I'm thinking new adult at youngest really.
Of course, im happy to have a few books, one doesnt have to have it all. But I'd say the main themes are:
Slow burn romantasy
Socially struggling FMC
Strong Friendships made
Self acceptance
Overcoming past trauma
And bonus points for any neurodivergent characters, portal fantasies, and not preferably not enemies to lovers (I've had a lot of enemies to lovers latley)
I recently read and liked the invisible life of Addie LaRue and the Knight and the Moth.
And I know its a long list, but like I said, don't need it all in one book, finding more books I like definitely is not a problem.
