I have had a hell of a year with some very serious health issues. My concentration still isn’t great, so I’m looking for books that will keep me entertained and make me smile! For example, I loved the Thursday Murder Club series and enjoyed other fun reads like Starter Villain. I do also love a good mystery or horror so wouldn’t say no to those suggestions either, but I am definitely leaning towards the fun, chill vibes. TIA!!!

I am loving the Slough House series by Mick Herron so far. They are smart, funny spy novels with plenty of twists to keep your attention (and they are twists you don’t see coming).

I hope you are on the mend!

**Killers of a Certain Age** by Deanna Raybourn and **How to Age Disgracefully** by Clare Pooley are good for Thursday Murder Club fans.

Yahtzee Croshaw, funny author with great characters.

Differently Morphus and Existentially Challenged – Governmental agency involved in the regulation of magic and extra dimensional beings.

Mogworld – Main character is undead. Hijinks ensue.

The Jacques McKeown series – An unemployed star pilot tries to get by in a universe where transporters are a thing. The first book in the series is Will save the galaxy for food.

The Number One Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. Mma “Precious” Ramotswe sets up a detective agency in Botswana on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, making her the only female detective in the country.

The Sheriff Bo Tully series by Patrick McManus. An Idaho sheriff solves crimes. The first book in the series is The Blight Way.

    4. If you liked Starter Villain, the you’ll also enjoy Kaiju Preservation Society and When the Moon Hits Your Eye!

Also, I always love to recommended Cooking With Fernet Branca, by James Hamilton-Paterson. I laughed so much reading this utterly absurd book!

    5. Jana DeLeon Miss Fortune series and Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich are both laugh out loud light mysteries.
