I'm taking a weekend trip with two of my friends. We are all going through some things in life right now–one is dealing with grief, one with a career-halting situation, and one with frustrating unemployment and crisis of identity. We're establishing a judgment-free zone of doing fun things and drinking wine with no obligation to pretend to be happy.
I know this is quite the depressing backstory haha. But I'm thinking about going out and buying three copies of a book we can read together–if we feel like it–something to take us out of our realities, make us think about the world in a different way, and bring us together.
We're also all former military, and we love challenges and adventure. Recommend something to make us laugh, or make us cry, forget our problems or embrace our problems, detach from reality or see it in a new light.
