SF Book series to hook me up

I'm going through a really bad book hangover and would like you guys' recs for fantasy/sci-fi series (the longer, the better) to hook me up.
I'd like it to be something very grand, with fleshed out characters. Preferably something where there are no characters 100% good or bad, but they are like real people.
