    Hi book lovers!

I’m looking to get my wife a book for her birthday next month and would love your recommendations. She’s really into topics like leadership, personal growth, life, or any new interesting topics that I guess she’ll like. If you have any favorites in those areas, I’d appreciate the suggestions!

    Thanks!

So, this might be way off topic, but here’s my best guesses for new and interesting topics:

Ed Wong is an incredible science writer who has published two books. They are easy to understand for non scientists. An Immense World. I Contain Multitudes.

      Fire Weather by John Vaillant

The Family Roe: An American Story by Joshua Prager.

The Bookstore: A History of the American Bookstore by Evan Friss

American Made: What Happens to People When Work Disappears by Farah Stockman

The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women: Why Capable People Suffer from Impostor Syndrome and How to Thrive In Spite of It by Valerie Young

The Making of a Manager: What to Do When Everyone Looks to You by Julie Zhuo

Good in a Room: How to Sell Yourself (and Your Ideas) and Win Over Any Audience by Stephanie Palmer

Adjacent to leadership, these are books that expose the unspoken reasons behind promotions.

Let the Story Do the Work: The Art of Storytelling for Business Success by Esther K. Choy

Executive Presence: The Missing Link Between Merit and Success by Sylvia Ann Hewlett

Casual Power: How to Power Up Your Nonverbal Communication & Dress Down for Success by Sherry Maysonave

How to Be Successful without Hurting Men’s Feelings: Non-threatening Leadership Strategies for Women by Sarah Cooper – Satire of career advice books. Good light funny read if the other books feel too heavy.

      Hope this helps.
