I have a terrible habit of relaxing by doomscrolling. With the current date of the world being as it is, I find myself feeling an anxious and sometimes a bit depressed. I’m in a book club but our current book is about children who go missing from a summer camp and it’s a great story but it’s bringing me down too! I need a great book! I know stories have conflict, but is there anything that doesn’t concentrate on it for 300 pages? I’m looking for something full of life and love and joy and happiness. A truly blissful read.

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (nonfiction)
Or, you can go the more humorous route with A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
David Sedaris is always good for a laugh, any of his books really.
A Psalm for the Wild-Built
A Gentleman in Moscow
If you don’t mind romance, anything by Annabel Monaghan. She is a beautiful writer and her books are great, especially for a summer escape. I especially loved Nora Goes Off Script
