I just finished this book and for a bleak melancholy book, I really liked it. The imagery was so great. The storyline just plods along, but it’s about that famous prose and imagery plus some philosophy. Highly recommend it. I like it better than BM. (Don’t “judge” me).
I wanted to discuss the ending. When he shoos away the old dog, was that him succumbing to the grief and fatigue from this world and taking it out on the dog? It’s out of character, so is that the point? Also, what was your favorite story or part? I’m still reflecting on it, but I really liked the Gypsies story and the theme of stories/narratives.
