I love Blackwood's work! So far I've read The Wendigo, The Willows, and The Camp of the Dog. I am enamored by his detailed descriptions of nature, his views on spirituality and mysticism, along with the way he writes horror. I love how even the horror of his stories seems to be underlined by a sense of awe in the face of nature and the mysteries of the universe. I prefer him over Lovecraft as Lovecraft strikes me as very pessimistic, maybe even out right nihilistic, where as Blackwood takes a more balanced view (imo at least). Who are some other writers, older or contemporary, that I would enjoy as well?
