I get decision paralysis easy but need some agency in choice, so I have a TBR prompt jar. Instead of the title, it has open ended prompts like "read a Goodreads Award Winner" or "a book with less than 2,000 reviews," etc. Mine now is "books that everyone but you have read."
I'm looking for somewhat contemporary (like 90s and sooner) books with big hype and everyone has read them. Pure romance/spicy books are probably the only ones I don't read though I do like more literary ones like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and The Song of Achilles. Otherwise, I read anything.

City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert
A Man Called Ove by Frederik Backman (Beartown is my favorite, but Ove has twice as many readers on GR)
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
The Woman by Kristin Hannah
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
*Note – I gave these 5 stars. They all made me cry. They all have 1 Million+ reviews on Goodreads.
Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid! While it has romance as a primary storyline, there are so many additional elements to it that made it wonderful. I think you’d like it a lot if you liked 7 Husbands (same author)
Check out Lessons in Chemistry.
Tom Lake.
I came across it highly reviewed and had a hold placed at the library for quite some time. It was still worth it!
